WhatsApp is working on a new keyboard that provides an enhanced emoji experience for its users. The latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android introduces some interesting keyboard-related updates. The keyboard has been partially redesigned to offer easier access to emojis and other features.

The new beta version, 2.23.12.8, has been rolled out by Meta, the parent company of WhatsApp, for Android smartphones. This update confirms that WhatsApp will soon introduce a partially revamped keyboard with improved emoji accessibility. The changes in this beta version represent a more advanced stage of development compared to the previous beta release, 2.23.9.2.

One notable improvement is the introduction of emoji categorization, making it easier for users to find and use their desired emojis. This enhancement reflects WhatsApp's commitment to user convenience and seamless messaging experiences.

In addition to emoji-related improvements, the keyboard layout has undergone a general reorganization. As highlighted by WaBetaInfo, the tabs for accessing other functions, such as stickers and GIFs, have been moved to the top. Furthermore, the chat bar buttons are being adjusted to resemble the style seen in the desktop version of WhatsApp or the iOS version of the service.

While it remains uncertain when these changes will be available to the general public, Meta regularly introduces new features and updates to its messaging platform. Recently, the company implemented a new window feature to prevent encryption keys from being forgotten and enhanced privacy features for sensitive conversations. In April, WhatsApp introduced animated emojis, taking inspiration from Telegram's functionality.
