Secure Navigation with Enhanced Protection: Activating the Feature in Gmail and Chrome

Google has recently introduced a new feature called Enhanced Safe Browsing, which is being deployed in Gmail and Chrome. It is strongly recommended to activate this feature without delay in order to benefit from real-time protection.

Enhanced Protection

Over the past few days, many users have noticed a small notification appearing above their Gmail inbox, on the Android app, and in their web browser. This notification offers "additional protection against phishing" and suggests activating the "Enhanced Safe Browsing" feature to enhance protection against dangerous emails. So, what exactly is it and should you enable it? In response to the increasing sophistication and inventiveness of scams and phishing attempts, as well as the presence of numerous malicious browser extensions in the Chrome Store, Google is adding extra layers of security to its services.

The Enhanced Safe Browsing feature provides real-time security analysis to identify and block dangerous websites, extensions, and downloads. It improves Google's ability to detect phishing attempts, malware, and offers better protection against dangerous links within Google applications. Additionally, it alerts you if your passwords have been compromised due to a data breach. It is highly recommended to activate this feature for enhanced security.

Here's how you can enable Enhanced Safe Browsing in Gmail and Google Chrome:

To activate it for your Google account, go to the following address and toggle the switch for "Enhanced Safe Browsing" to turn it on.

To activate it in Google Chrome, type "chrome://settings/security" directly into the browser's address bar. In the "Privacy and security" section, enable "Enhanced Protection" instead of "Standard Protection."
