IA: ChatGPT can now be connected to the internet (here's how).

Even while ChatGPT's knowledge does not extend past September 2021, it has not yet been able to handle requests pertaining to current events on its own. OpenAI has now corrected the error with the introduction of new specialized functionality.

One of ChatGPT's key flaws is finally fixed by OpenAI. In fact, the American start-up announces the arrival of a new feature allowing the conversational robot to connect to the Internet, as is already the case for some of its rivals, in the style of Bard from Google.

In this way, ChatGPT will be able to respond to inquiries pertaining to current events, something it hasn't been able to do thus far. In fact, OpenAI's IA generation has been reliant on data that will cease to exist in September 2021. Therefore, this is a significant improvement for ChatGPT.

Recall that Microsoft, who made a significant investment in OpenAI, had fixed this problem in February of last year with the integration of ChatGPT into Bing. As a result, the conversational robot will now be able to handle current information without using Microsoft's search engine.

But for the time being, users of ChatGPT Plus, the chatbot's paid edition, will only be able to use this new feature, dubbed Web browsing (navigation web).

Here are the four steps to do if you are a ChatGPT Plus user:

  • Click on your user name located at the bottom of the left-hand column on the interface.
  • Press the Settings button.
  • Select beta features.
  • Tick Web browsing.
