Keeping an Eye on Your Speed While Navigating with Waze and Google Maps

To steer clear of getting nabbed for speeding on the road, be mindful of your speedometer or seek a little assistance from the navigation apps of Google, Waze, or Maps to abide by the speed limits.

Waze and Google Maps

During holiday trips, it's quite effortless to press the accelerator a tad too firmly due to the impatience to reach the destination or simply due to lack of attention on unfamiliar roads. This may result in unintentionally surpassing the speed limits if you fail to pay heed to your speedometer and road signs.

Receiving Alerts for Radar Presence in Waze

By utilizing the navigation applications of Google, Waze, or Maps, you can evade speeding tickets. Waze, available for both iOS and Android, offers an added feature that cautions you when you surpass the permitted speed limit or when there are radars in the vicinity. Nevertheless, Google Maps in France does not include a functionality to report imminent radar checks since 2012. Nevertheless, Waze can notify users by indicating "danger zones," which are generally situated close to radars. Waze users also have the choice to manually report the presence of police checks or unregistered radars.

How to Keep Track of Speed Using Google Maps on Android?

The options in Google Maps differ between the Android and iOS versions. If you're using an Android device, you can activate the display of the current speed limit on the road you're on, along with a speedometer. Unfortunately, these options aren't available in the iPhone version of Maps, and there's no audible alert for exceeding the speed limit.

- Launch Google Maps on your Android device and tap on your avatar icon at the top right of the       screen.

- In the displayed panel, tap on "Settings."

- Scroll down and tap on "Navigation settings."

- Activate the switches for "Speed limits" and "Speedometer" in the "Driving options" section.

By adhering to these suggestions, you can travel safely on the roads of France and beyond, steering clear of speeding and potential fines. Always maintain a watchful eye on your displayed speed and adhere to the speed limits for a safer and more delightful journey.
