During a TED conference held in the United States in late April 2023, the start-up Humane demonstrated a technological advancement. Imran Chaudhri, the company's co-founder, unveiled a small box intended to take the place of a smartphone. By utilizing artificial intelligence, for instance, enables one to respond to an incoming call directly from their pocket.

The American startup Humane, founded by former Apple employees, aims to create the next-generation smartphone. Imran Chaudhri, the company's co-founder, presented a technology intended to replace the familiar phone at a TED conference held in late April, according to The Verge on Tuesday, May 9, 2023.

Imran Chaudhri explained that the start-up wants to do rid of screens as much as possible since they would act as a barrier between people and their surroundings. Thus, Humane relied on advances in artificial intelligence to design his futuristic apparatus: a small cabinet equipped with a camera, a projector, and a loudspeaker.

Imran Chaudhri activated it several times during the presentation to demonstrate the capabilities of the still-under-development model. He's used this novel device to answer a call from his wife ever since the conference began. The interface was found directly projected on her palm and displayed the other person's name.
